Greenwood-Coxwell is a neighbourhood that is often referred to as “up-and-coming,” but in reality, it’s already arrived. The area is popular with young families and those seeking single family homes or low rise condos. Near Leslieville and the Upper Beaches, Greenwood-Coxwell is a pleasant place to live at a still more affordable price than some other east-end neighbourhoods. Gerrard Street East runs through the south end of the area, where the personality of Little India awaits. For a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, Danforth Avenue is a short walk away. There are large parks with great recreation amenities, as well as libraries and schools. For commuters, Greenwood and Coxwell subway stations are off The Danforth, and the Streetcar runs on Gerrard. For drivers, Lakeshore Boulevard is a ten minute drive away.


What NOT to Expect: The area is residential and family-friendly, so if you're looking for an active night-life scene you might prefer downtown. However, bars are walkable along The Danforth for a fun night out.  


A Day in the Life: Walk from your Greenwood-Coxwell condo to Red Rocket Coffee on the Danforth. Have a take-out latte while you walk your kids to a birthday party at Monarch Park pool. Then, go shopping at Gerrard India Bazaar, where music plays along the colourful streets. Get a snack at the quirky Flying Pony while checking out the local artists’ new works on display. Stroll back to the park and read in the sun before meeting your kids, who are happily wrapped in beach towels after a fun day swimming.
