Best Pet Friendly Condos in Toronto

Best Pet Friendly Condos in Toronto

Toronto is a city full of animal lovers! As more Toronto residents choose to live in condos, “pet friendly” is something on many people’s must-have lists when seeking a new home in the city. Buyers and renters are increasingly seeking somewhere that both they and their furry friend can call home.

There are many Toronto condos that welcome pets, and there are also more buildings in the works with future four-legged residents in mind. Amenities such as “Pet Spas” and pet wash stations show that builders are finally embracing Toronto’s pet friendly mentality.

If you are a pet owner, or hope to have one in the future, take a look at these buildings before you buy. While there are more options your realtor can fill you in on, these are some of our favourites. From parks and off-leash areas to unique amenities, these buildings are perfect for pet owners.

  1. CHOCOLATE CO. LOFTS Queen West/Trinity Bellwoods

This building is already a stunning place to live, with historic charm and a coveted Queen West location.

The building has an inviting dog culture especially, since Trinity Bellwoods Park is right across the street. The Trinity Bellwoods Dog Bowl is a fantastic place to let your dog run and play in one of Toronto’s favourite parks. (Of course, any chocolate found in these lofts is just for humans)!

       2.  WATERPARK CITY : Fort York

The building at 219 Fort York Boulevard welcome dogs (up to two dogs in a unit with no weight limits!) in a beautiful waterfront community. Neighbouring 209 Fort York and 231 Fort York are also pet friendly buildings.

Walk your dog to Coronation Park right on the lake, or for a longer stroll explore lakeside scenery along Martin Goodman Trail.

Coronation Park even has an off-leash dog area so your pet can get plenty of exercise close to home!

    3.  HOME ON THE PARK : High Park

This charming mid-rise building at 383 Ellis Park Road also welcomes dogs of any size and up to two pets total. These condos are also steps from Toronto’s largest park- High Park.

Visit the High Park Off-Leash area, where your pup can explore the incredible “dog hill” and run around with some new friends. It’s also close to the Grenadier Cafe, so you can stop for a coffee on your walk.

      4.  WHITEHAUS CONDOS : Yonge and Eglinton

This pre-construction building is just one example of builders who are designing condos for pet owners. The builder’s website has an entire amenity page about the pet spa! This ground floor grooming station will make keeping your pet clean easier than ever. (Of course, plans can change during development, but buildings like these are an exciting step towards having more options for pet owners in the condo market).

The building at 2360 Yonge Street will also be a short walk from Eglinton Park. On weekends take your pet to the ravine lands surrounding Sherwood Park.

      5.  KEW LOFTS : The Beach

The stylish lofts at 66 Kippendavie Avenue are bright and modern condos in one of Toronto’s most beloved neighbourhoods. Dogs are welcome, and cats will love basking in the sunlight by large windows.

Walk to Woofstock at Woodbine Park and shop for treats in this very dog-friendly community. Or, walk through Kew Gardens to the off-leash dog park right off The Boardwalk!

Neighbourhoods such as The Beach have many more condo buildings that welcome pets. Don't rule out townhomes either, if you have larger pet or want easy access to a backyard. Whatever pet you have, there is a home for both of you!
